Dec. 19, 2016: Moose & Snow

On Monday we had the perfect timing of having a moose walk right past the front kitchen windows, through the front yard, and walk up the driveway. I managed to snag a blury picture and the kids were excited to see their first moose!

Later that day I accompanied Lucy, Clara, and Henry to the backyard where they made more snow angels and generally rolled around in the snow to their hearts content.

Side note: For Christmas Lucy got a digital camera from Zach's parents, and she brought it with her to Alaska to document the trip. I included her pictures and video clips in these posts as well.

Moose!

Clara having the time of her life.

Henry not being able to do much of anything.

Lucy's pictures:
I took out the MOST offensive blurry ones. The outdoor ones turned out a lot better than the indoor ones with low light.

Some singing, ornaments, piano "music" and about 20 minutes of silence. You're welcome.

Here begins the photographic tour of the house. First up: Emily's painting of an iris flower.

Really bad picture, but must represent with my junior year high school photo, and my ceramic raku monkey from my college pottery class. Woot woot!

Lucy Update: Drawings, Apples, Wishes

Here is what Lucy was up to the first half of 2015.

A Sunbeam project from church that Lucy and I added onto at home together.
"I have a body! I can take care of my body by eating healthy food and exercising!"

"Mom! One more picture! A beard!"

"Look Mommy! It's a mustache!"

"Happy birthday, we love you so much. We'll bring presents and cookies to you (it's a silly joke). We miss you so much. We hope you come to Texas where we live, because we invited you so much. (Do little hearts.) I love you Scott!" <3 <3
Lucy's birthday message for Uncle Scott. Jan. 2015

Lucy's first talk from August 24, 2014.
The topic was:
"Participating in wholesome activities will strengthen my family"

"L, Lucy. T, for mommy. D for Dad. P for Peter. P for Puddin'. R for Clara." Feb. 2015

"These are my three wish flowers. I wish I could be a fairy, I wish I could be happy, and I wish I could make good choices."
Additional wishes added moments later when she found more flowers are:
- I wish I could live a good life
- I wish I could grow up and be a good feeder (feed her children, a good "cooker")
- I wish I could be a good mom when I grow up

A thank you card for Uncle Boyd showing the coloring pencils and roll of paper she got from him for Christmas.

"This is a girl from the movie we watched that I didn't really like, but I drew it anyways. She has yellow hair. This is the table with the key and bottle on it. This is the door that can talk and tells her to drink the bottle so she will be small, but he is really tricking her. She tries to chase the rabbit but it didn't work. She tried to run as fast as she could."

PAX South 2015

Zach surprised us with an awesome family date in January. He got us tickets to PAX South, a game convention.

Being large with child, I tried to take it easy while meandering through the halls. Zach found different groups to play games with and I took the girls around to explore the booths, activities, and various photo ops.

For dinner we went to a Brazilian steakhouse that was located across from the convention center. It was delicious!

Lucy had I had a great time collecting buttons from all the booths and putting them on her lanyard. She also sweet-talked herself into several photo ops with cos-players.

This picture is by far my favorite. I can't help but laugh every time I look at it.
The Warriors and Confused Baby.

Heaven! She's in heaven!

This costume was really impressive.

This girl was working it.

Lucy putting on a show while dancing to "Happy." This guy was a great sport to dance with her. They drew quite a crowd.

We had a great time at the convention. The only down side was that we were hoping to meet some local people to invite over for game nights, but unfortunately all the people we met were from out of town! Maybe next year.
