Baby: Day One

Wednesday April 17, 2013 we were scheduled for a c-section and we arrived at the hospital ready to go.

Got to the hospital at 6am and ready to do this thing.

IV in hand strategically covered with a washcloth so I wouldn't have to look at it.

Zach geared up and ready to go.

"Scalpel."

"Suction."

Cutting the cord.

That is one strong baby! Hanging on for dear life.

Victory!
(Cue the Circle of Life soundtrack from The Lion King.)

Not very exciting rub down.

Official time was 9:02am, Wednesday April 17, 2013.

So, so relieved and happy.

Nice and pink.

Lookin' good!

Love.

With tears of happiness and relief.

7 lbs 14 oz. 19.5 inches

In the recovery room, spending time with my new daughter.

Happy as a clam.

Ready for her close-up.

Welcome to our family, little one!

Nana Time

Lucy loves her Nana time. We were lucky enough to have Zach's mom, dad, and sister come visit us in anticipation of the new baby and to help out. Lucy took full advantage of the one-on-one time she got from Nana, Poppa, and Jenna- and loved every minute of it!

Chalkboard Art: April (Before)

Getting ready for baby sister to arrive.

Used some new tips for the lettering on this one. Still have a ways to go though.

Can't wait to meet her!

Lucy's New Haircut

Lucy got a new haircut a few weeks ago from our friend Natalie. She did an amazing job and I can't stop telling Lucy how much I love her new hair!

Eeep! Her hair is so long! So grown up.

Cutie girl! I love her new haircut!

Easter 2013

I think our new tradition for Easter is to celebrate it on the Saturday before with baskets, egg, candy, etc. I loved how much more relaxed it made Easter Sunday itself.

This year we didn't get to decorate eggs because of my pregnancy, but it is one of my favorite holiday traditions. Another favorite is Easter baskets!

Happy girl! Excited to color her place mats.

Dad's Easter... pile?

Ready to squirt dad with her new water gun!

Upgrading to cups!

Lucy got her own big water bottle!

Thanks Grandpa Billy and Grandma Gayle for the See's jelly eggs!
