SeaWorld

Andrew surprised us with tickets to Sea World! Thankfully, we picked a day that was a lot warmer than the one we to to Six Flags on.

We loved all the shows and seeing the animals. Lucy loved the kiddie rides and exploring everything. It was so fun! Zach and I even went on a few rollercosters together while Boyd and Andrew watched the kids for us. I was so surprised how short the lines were! We only had to wait one turn before getting on.

Sweethearts for life.

Waiting for a show.

Zach and Lucy at the top of the net climb. In the summer this whole area has a water park feature to it.

Lucy loving meeting everyone.

Andrew bought a few bowls of fish to feed to the sea lions.

They even found one squid in the bunch!

Had to recapture our last picture taken here.

Pregnant with Lucy: March 2010

Sea World was a lot of fun, and another place that seems like a year pass would be worth investing in. Maybe after our year pass for the Children's Museum expires we will get a family pass to one of these parks! I like how they both have water parks/features for the summer months.

Children's Museum: Boyd Edition

We met up with Boyd and Andrew downtown and visited the Children't Museum together.

Now that Clara is a little older she made good use out of the toddler explore area.

Asian Festival February 2014

We went to the Asian Festival as a family activity and had fun looking at all the booths and exhibits. The highlight was watching all the different performers dance and highlight their cultures.

Zach and Lucy with all the different flags from around the world.

Zach and Lucy at one of the permanent exhibits: Texas History

Lucy watching a group of dancers representing India.

I love going to things like this, but not as much when they charge an entrance fee as well as make you pay for everything else inside. I would definitely be interested in going again next year depending on what the entrance fee was.

Anyone else know of any fun family outings or events like this that we should look into? I'm always on the lookout!

New Year's Eve: In Holland

We were so lucky to be invited to an annual New Years Eve party that our new friends host every year. This year the country they chose for the theme was Holland.

In traditional Holland fashion, it was also a costume party! I pulled out our costume boxes and we whipped up these costumes for the entire crew.

Snowman contest: Boyd and Andrew

The winning team!

Boyd and Andrew were good sports, and had many fan club members by the end of the night.

Nice hat/ears on this snowman.

A worthy adversary in the snowman contest.

"Midnight" balloon release!

Hearing all about the traditions of Holland.

Pure joy to find the treats left behind in her shoe.

Trying to nurse an orange.

Lucy congratulating Clara, who won 2nd place in the kids costume contest. The Dragon won first.

The Adult costume contest participants. I won, and Boyd was runner up.

Lucy's prize for participating in the costume contest.

Finishing off the night right with fireworks!

It was great to have a fun family activity to go to on New Years Eve.  I hope we get invited again next year!

What fun traditions do you do for New Years Eve? I'm always looking for new ideas!

Six Flags

One of the amazing Christmas gifts we got from Andrew was tickets to Six Flags! We all had an great time! It was so much fun!

Lucy loved all the rides and characters. Good thing we dressed warm, it was freezing that day! The free-refill hot chocolate mug we bought was definitely worth the cost!

I loved the shows and rollercoster Zach and I rode, and enjoyed spending some time on a few ride with my Lullabelle girl.

Teacup ride

Canadian Flag Man!

Clara enjoyed being cocooned in several layers of clothes, blankets, and booties.

Clara was a hit with the cast members.

Even in the freezing cold Six Flags was so fun! It definitely made the lines shorter. Maybe we will get season passes one year! The water park section was closed, but would definitely be fun in the summer months and a good way to spend hot Texas days.
