April 2014 General Conference

Zach had to work Conference weekend, so we made it a fun Mother-Daughter time with a yummy breakfast and activities.

We pulled out the Friend magazines from the past few months and made the Around the World paper dolls that are found in each issue.

I'm not someone who usually advocates providing entertainment for your kids, and instead usually insist that they sit reverently and try to listen so they can learn and practice for church. I was surprised to find that I focused better while mindlessly coloring and actually got a lot more out of it than when I try to just watch and listen while attempting to corral two distracting babies.

Clara was confined to the highchair eating for one session, and napping the second, which worked great for her. Lucy was engrossed in her project and asking questions about what we were listening to, while I answered her inquiries, colored, and watched the broadcast myself. A win for everyone!

Proud of her paper dolls.

Happy to be eating German Pancakes and watching the church news in-between sessions.

What traditions do you do on Conference weekend?

Red, White, & Blue

Here's Clara's patriotic outfit for the Sunday after the 4th of July. Wish I could have snapped one with Lucy in it too, but she had already taken her red dress off and was taking a nap.

Here's to adorable $0.50 baby dresses you get at your friend's garage sale!

Sabbath Baby

Must document all cute church clothes!

So, so sweet.

We didn't get any pictures with Zach in them on Clara's blessing day because he had to stay late at church to count tithes. By the time he got home babies were out of their church clothes and taking naps. So, I had Clara wear her blessing dress again and we took fake blessing pictures of the two of them together.

Where have I seen that face before?

Other highlights include:

Thank you for the beautiful dress, Grandma Gillson!

Thank you for the cute outfit, Grandma Gayle!

Can't get enough of this cute Sabbath baby.

Sabbath Snuggles

Taking a pause while Skyping with Uncle Boydie to snap a few pictures with our webcam.

Love these girls.

Clara's Baby Blessing

We were glad Boyd could be here for Clara's baby blessing, which was also her debut at church, as well as my first time in about two months because of difficulties from gestational diabetes when I was pregnant, recovery, etc.

It was so nice to be at church again, although I was not looking forward to having to resume my various responsibilities. I just want to take this short time I have with Clara as a newborn and drink it in fully before it is gone. I didn't get enough time with Peter and have been really enjoying having a precious babe in my arms again. It is so nice to have this sweet baby girl with me, as well as remembering that time I spent with Lucy and Peter as infants, and the sweet joys of motherhood that I have been blessed with.

Those tender moments with my babies are truly the joys of my life, and the memories that bring me the most happiness.

Ready for church!

Lucy loves holding her baby sister.

Lucy saying, "Look, a rose! Tracy Rose Davis!"

Sweetness.

Lucy trying to "bump her" = bouncing her to calm her down

One tired Mama.

My girls!

She loves snuggling.

Happy after her nap!
