Valentine's Day 2014

This year for Valentine's Day we invited some friends over for dinner and games. It was a lot of fun. Lucy had a great time playing with their daughters, dressing up and putting on a performance for us, while the parents played games and visited.  We love entertaining and are always looking for people to come over and play games with us.

Here are some pictures from earlier in the day when Lucy and Clara opened their package from Grandpa Billy and Grandma Gayle.

Lucy decided that Clara should model her new socks on her hands for the picture.

Excited for all her treats!

Lucy asked me to draw a picture of "Mommy and Daddy", this is what I came up with: A love note for Zach.

Air Dry Clay: Valentines Hearts

Another fun activity for Lucy from our February Advent Calendar was working with air dry clay. We rolled out the clay and used cookie cutters to make hearts for Valentines Day. Lucy also had fun making snowmen out of the clay.

After letting them dry for a couple of days we used red tempera paint to paint them. Lucy did a great job painting and had fun learning a new art medium with the clay!

Chalkboard Art: February

I got the idea for this month's chalkboard drawing from this pin. This project also helped meet another one of my goals for the year by introducing a new medium to Lucy for art projects- chalk!

It was fun to work on a project together and have it displayed in our home.

Pink Tea Society: February & Cupid's Float Recipe

Lucy and I had a great time at a tea party our friends hosted in February. Each of us brought a snack or treat to share, and all the littles had a blast dancing, playing, and enjoying all the yummy treats.

Lucy and I brought ingredients to make our own version of Cupid Floats, as well as giant strawberry and vanilla marshmallows with food decorating markers for the kids to decorate and draw with.

Everyone looked great in their tea-time clothes and we can't wait for the next party!

I used a small cookie scooper to make mini-sized ice cream scoops for the floats.

Ingredients:
- Vanilla Ice Cream (Bryers)
- Pink/red soda (IBC black cherry)
- Maraschino cherries

Dancing, dancing, everywhere.

I love the cut lace pattern on the tea saucers!
