Skirt: thrifted, Belt: thrifted, Boots: Payless, Sweater: Forever 21 |
I got this skirt for $0.99 at a local thrift store when they were having a 99 cent sale on almost all of their clothing. I love it! I wore it as a maternity skirt over my belly, and now as a regular maxi. I love the pleats, and it can be machine washed. Skirts were a lifesaver while pregnant (they always fit and are comfortable), and are always a popular choice for me, since I live in Texas, where it gets SUPER hot in the summer. The summer also lasts for quite a long time.
I also thrifted the belt for 1$ or 2$. (I can't remember now.) I love going to thrift stores and finding a piece at a bargain price. It's always fun to go with a friend and help each other find hidden treasures.

Heidi braids are awesome for summer as well. It keeps your hair off your neck and out of your face. I braid mine while it is still pretty wet, so it will be tight and stay in longer. If you want more of the loose and whimsical look, I would braid it dry and have it be second-day hair for more texture.

I crossed mine in back before going around the head. |

Used clear tiny hair bands on each end of braid, and crisscrossed bobby pins to pin them together in front. |
